i've lots and lots that i wanna talk abt
but i guess i wld need to be selective to whom i share them with.
i feel dis trip was really fruitful & meaningful.
posting some pics up 1st to share my excitement.
i took lots of pics w my hp coz my cam died on me - of all times~
but managed to capture many vids on cam instead.
zhong zi, i have many stories to tell thru d pics & vids.
will tell you when i've the time to upload.
homestayed with my fren & her family & her family-in-law....
went to celebrate Loy Kratong & set off the wishing lantern & boat....
school, village, meeting, scouting, hairdresser, lots and lots....
lived like a thai in a typical Issan environment....
tried many things i never wld.... ventured the unknown....
it has been full.
many many stuff awaits me to do now.... ~
since i was traveling alone, i got really bored durin' most of
my traveling time so i self entertained & amused myself alot.
i tried d train - which was abt 12hrs from BKK to the province.
if ur butt is d same as mine, v little padding, b careful of ur tailbone....~
it can get really excruciating & trying on ur lower back.
took many many lame shots of my wunderful myself & others.... LOL
on the journey back to BKK.... it was the morning train.
i was super hungry lahH but then i only brought pocky stickz.
went outta the cabin & stood gingerly on the platform -
half worryin that my hp will slip thru my fingers anytime.... ~
and w the loud churning sounds of the wheels against d track,
i shouted out d goals i wanna achieve again
& thanked God for d doors opened thus far.... =)
i seriously need to put on my specs durin' impt functions.
whoever we shared our plans with, always asked how old i am.
asked if i had finished school already.... DUH~
my homestay at apple's family home & mr. nong's place.
i have come to live in harmony with lizards, ants, houseflies & mozzies.
just dun let me catch them. they will surely die.
anyway, once the mozzies sucked enuff of ur blood, they get really
heavy & slow. u can wait to kill them or just let them fly ard u.
coz they have no more space to suck up more of ur blood.
this was at apple's family home. i shared d sleepin space with
herself, her mum & her niece in the living room with a huge mozzie net.
this was at mr. nong's place. spartan space but it gets really freezing
at night literally. my watch, hp, water all turned icy cold thru the nite.
i was fully suited up, piled under very thick blankets each nite....~
one of those spy shots. he was my traveling companion on
the return trip home.... cool riteE....~
went to one of the smaller schools where apple's dad is teaching.
gonna help them build a school library and recreation center for
the young ones. something like a pre school activity center....
pls help to spread the word out to get ppl involved to be volunteers
or bosses who will sponsor these projects.
all these facilities we wanna build cost just btwn $5k to $12k SGD.
but to them, the amt is too huge and there's nothing much that
they can do to better their own lives. but we can surely help.
unequal circumstances, equal opportunities.
apple brought me to the temple(wat) in NongKhai with the family on a
early sun morning & many other residents who were devout buddhists.
all i can say is....
i did not deny my faith.
was a long time since i went to a temple.
they prayed. i excused myself to be outside.
they ate d food that the monks had earlier on. i did a Daniel.
so proud of myself manN. see my smug face.... lol~
but....
when i told apple that i didnt wanna take d food coz i'm a christian,
she was kind enuff to bring out some snacks for me aft the lunch.
i was like.... ummmM.... i knew where they were from.... hahahaA~
so while i was ransacking my brain for ways to dispose the snacks
without a trace and not cause any awkward moments....
these kids saved my life. i offered all to them! heheheheheE~
these are the village heads of their villages in the province.
i always thot what i saw was just it. but turns out that there are
many many dozens of small villages which we do not see.
i was feeling really panicky when over 10 village heads looked
at me while apple explained stuff to them. it was freaky~
but they r truly grateful that help is on the way.
and i will whatever i can to help these ppl.
i dun like my flights to be delayed at the last min.
for whatever reasons, it happened on my return flight.
it was supposedly delayed for an hr.... i thot that was still alright....
in the end, d time i took off from BKK was the time i was supposed
to land in Sg.... so i was delayed for 2hrs and more. fumes~
think i'm gonna write in.
it was a transit flight but guess what, d pilots came 25mins aft
the supposedly departure time and i was still waiting to board.
unless u really love mustafa.... else forget abt giving it a try.
jetstar/airasia is perhaps, 1star above even.
i cldnt get my hands off the magazines sold there....
they are way cheaper than in sg.... i love knowledge~
mr nong is apple's husband.
when i 1st knew dis fren of mine, i never thot we wld develop such
an unique and strong frenship with each other.
afterall, one is thai and the other is sg.
but in spite of d slight language & culture barriers btwn us,
we shared alot during these 10days together, communicated
our ideas and made each other understand our intentions
and enjoyed friendship together.... there will be more to come =)
