. . . .
last day @ the hospital today.
felt sad that i had to cut short my experience there.
but felt kinda good tat i told them d truth abt why i cldnt continue instead of using a nice
cover story.. which will probably make me look less ugly abt shorting the stay there.
like maybe.. i needed to go back earlier.. something cropped up back home and i needed to go..
those sort of stuff.. it wld definitely make it easier for me to get to the exit than to tell them tat
i felt that i shd go back n sharpen my tools for slaying the monster..
i really wished i cld have stayed on more.... really enjoyed everything ive learned there from
my shadow doc.. i learned so much more from d short practical than just from books alone.
i prob haven seen all that there are to witness but im thankful that ive seen some really serious
injuries and procedures. today i saw a land mine victim.. he was severely injured on his lower
body, including his little brother. upper body was also injured but less severe.. but suffered
internal rupture of some organs.. i mean, he's fortunate to be alive considering the fact that a live
land mine actually blew up on him. to read n watch abt land mine victims is one thing, to see an
actual survivor of it is really another.
i also touched tumor lumps, nodules and all sorts of bumps.. some r just tumors, some are
cancer, some r benign, some r not.. feeling them then u can digest how d info u have been reading
about and understand what they are really talking about.. really awesome stuff.
this country has d highest % of amputees in d world and i am not surprised. i saw so many ppl
there with different kinds of injuries and all sorts of fractures.. trauma injuries are really no joke.
the most heart stopping case i saw was a young man who got almost his entire arm chewed up
by a machine he was working on. i was there when he was wheeled in.. my doc told me abt it
the moment i stepped into d OPD. i saw the part where his arm was entirely wrapped up n bundled
in white gauze. i didnt really think much of it.. it was all wrapped up nicely n not bloodied..
then i heard d story from my doc. i asked if anything was saved so they cld do a reattachment..
but he told me that they cldnt save anything. everything was chewed up. there wasnt enuff blood
avail for him to do d op so he laid on a bed in d OPS waiting for donors to donate blood to him.
d looks on him n d next of kin showed everything. he knew it was very bad n i guess they were
both hurting abt it but cld find no comforting words to speak to each other.
the op doc came and opened up d bandage to assess the wound. i kept telling myself to brace
for the worst scenes as they unwrapped the bandages. wat i saw was heart wrenching to say
the least. the forearm, hand and fingers were gone in d machine. only the humerous bone was
left exposed.. with the end slightly crushed. no flesh nor meat were left on the bone except a little
muscles left on the biceps/triceps area.. a mangled mess of blood. the whole arm wld have to go.
seeing the injury was gruesome but seeing the faces of the victim n his family far more difficult.
he didnt want to look at it when the doc was examining it.. u cld see n feel his anguish.
his dad came later n stood silent by d bed. he looked so distaught.. the scene just kills u inside.
these r things that will happen. im really interested in all these. but first, i need to slay the monster.
can i do it? i will try. at least, dis time i am more prepared and im trying harder than b4.
not all successful people succeed on their first tries right? thomas edison was way way behind b4
he succeeded. i sure hope i make it dis 2nd time. if i dont? maybe i will try again. i dunno..
for now, im just gonna practise and practise and practise and practise till time runs out.
i walk the walk, i try my best, i put in the effort, i chase after my dream.. the rest is up to Him
to fight and direct my path. if this is for me, i will surely make it whether it will be dis time or not.
enuff said.
back to practise papers.
5 more nights!
add in the coals and speed on!
